The Tom Douglas Thrillers
Books can be read in any order
Welcome to my website, a place where I hope you will be able to find all the information you need about my novels.
The question I am asked most regularly is ‘in which order should I read the Tom Douglas thrillers?’ – and the answer is, you can read them in any order you like! All of the books stand alone, the only developing story being that of Tom himself. So if you have become a fan of DCI Douglas, you might want to start at the beginning, with Only the Innocent, and work your way through the titles in the order displayed above, left to right. But if you have started with the latest book, there shouldn’t be anything to confuse you.
In 2018 I also published the first book in the Stephanie King series - And So It Begins. Please check that out from the list below.
If you are a member of a Book Club, I am pleased to say that there are reading group discussion notes for most of my books. Just navigate to the book page, and you'll find some notes to download there. But beware: if you haven’t already read the book in question, you mustn’t read the notes first. They are full of spoilers!
I hope you find everything you need here, but if not, pop along to the contacts page and send me a message. I try to answer as quickly as possible, but depending on whether I am out on tour or deeply involved in writing or editing, it may take a little longer. And you can always contact me on Twitter or Facebook.
Thanks for visiting, and happy reading!
PRAISE FOR RACHEL ABBOTT'S BOOKS
I am in awe of Rachel Abbott’s plotting! The Sixth Window is Abbott at her best, with page turning twists to the very end. Recommend it to your best friend and your book group - you will want to discuss it with everyone you know.
Abbott continues to be an outstanding force in the world of thriller writing and The Sixth Window is no exception. Pacy, suspenseful and cleverly constructed, it is a gripping page-turner of a read, filled with astute observations on human nature. I loved it!"
Author of Into the Darkest Corner
I have spent two days completely immersed in this twisty turny story and recently emerged breathless. Incredibly skilfully woven tale of loss, deceit, jealousy and love set against the backdrop of a difficult subject with the highest amount of sensitivity. A definite 5* read from me.

Rachel Abbott was born just outside Manchester, England, and spent most of her working life as the Managing Director of an interactive media company. After her company was sold in 2000, she fulfilled a lifelong ambition of buying and restoring a property in Italy. She now splits her time between homes in Italy and Alderney, where she writes full time and has just completed her sixth novel.
Rachel launched her first novel Only the Innocent in November 2011. The book was self-published in the UK through the Kindle Direct Publishing programme on Amazon, and reached the number 1 spot in the Kindle store just over three months later. It held its position for four weeks, and was the second highest selling self-published title in 2012.
