DARK, GLOSSY, IRRESISTIBLE

This is one barbecue dish that Tom makes time after time. It takes just moments to put together the marinade, then he pops the chicken into a bag or a bowl to marinade all day so it's ready when he gets home. All he has to do then is light the barbecue, and relax.
In The Shape of Lies, Tom is invited to his ex-wife's home for a barbecue with his partner Louisa, and his daughter, Lucy. He has been juggling a week of big revelations – not all of them good – with the high-stakes hunt for a double murderer, and Tom finds a rare moment of peace behind the grill of a family barbecue. As his daughter Lucy hands him the marinated chicken, the afternoon offers a final moment of calm before the case and the truth pull him back into the shadows.
