For those of you who like your food spicy, this is a terrific recipe – and of course, one of Tom Douglas’s favourites!


There are a couple of things that you may have to buy online – specifically the gochujang paste, because I don’t think there is any real substitute, and the Ponzu soy sauce. You can use normal soy sauce instead, though – preferably Japanese.


If you’re scared of it being too spicy, cut down on the gochujang the first time you make it, and see how you get on.
