Chicken Tagine - features in The Shape Of Lies

There may seem to be a lot of ingredients in this recipe, but it doesn't take long to put together, and it's so easy to cook in a slow cooker (or in a low oven, if you prefer).

In The Shape of Lies, Tom Douglas's daughter has just moved out of her mother's house and into Tom and Louisa's, after an argument with her mother.

She spends the afternoon with Louisa making a Moroccan chicken tagine, served with couscous and roasted vegetables – the kind of dish that takes effort, ans is more than just dinner.

Tom arrives home from a difficult day chasing a killer through a Manchester car park to find Lucy stirring the pot, proud of what she's made. The meal never really gets eaten – a quiet chat about Kate's divorce goes wrong, Lucy realises her mother wasn't lying to her after all, and she leaves the table before the first bowl is served.
